    In this video, Dr. Garg discusses challenging cases, including intraoperative floppy iris syndrome, floppy bag, and zonulopathy, all performed using a femtosecond laser and a next-generation phaco system.

    Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

    • Determine, customize, and modify phacoemulsification settings to maximize outcomes for complex cataract cases and review the need to alter settings as necessary
    • Analyze the key unique details of phacoemulsification functions in peristaltic and venturi pumps, fluidics and phacoemulsification power modulation as well as techniques for nuclear disassembly and hydrodissection in complex cataract cases
    • Review best practices for phacoemulsification and surgical techniques to maximize outcomes in complex cataract cases
